Chair rail mouldings were originally intended to be applied along the wall of a room to prevent chairs from marring the wall.  Today chair rail is typically applied as a horizontal decorative element at approximately 32" above the floor.  Back Band is the outer moulding of door or window casing.  Panel Mould is used as a decorative trim for raised panel walls and base cap is used as a decorative trim to base trim.
